In partnership with multiple associations, Ag Council announces the launch of a website to access information about the new California Small Agricultural Business Drought Relief Grant Program created by the State of California.

Many of those who supply and provide service infrastructure to farmers are experiencing economic difficulties due to multiple years of severe drought. These processors, service providers, haulers and others are managing unprecedented challenges.

To assist those impacted, the State of California created the California Small Agricultural Business Drought Relief Grant Program to provide small agricultural businesses affected by the drought with grants of up to $100,000.

The new website provides details regarding the grant, including eligibility criteria and the ability to sign-up to receive future program updates.  In addition, the website will provide access to applications, once those become available, which is anticipated in January 2023.

Ag Council appreciates the work and partnership of the following entities in the development of this website and the grant: California Rice Commission, Northern California Water Association, California Agricultural Aircraft Association, California Warehouse Association, California Tomato Growers Association, and Western Plant Health Association.

Of note, this grant program is different from LandFlex.  For details about LandFlex, please see the separate December 9 article on Ag Council’s blog.
